2015: Cheray logged a career-best three victories on the mound for the Bears as a junior, making 15 total appearances and holding the opposition to a .263 batting average…Combined on a two-hit shutout of Washington State (Feb. 15), allowing two hits while striking out four over 7.0 innings to earn MVC Pitcher of the Week and Valley Scholar-Athlete of the Week recognition…Defeated eventual NCAA Regional qualifier Wright State (March 7) with 7.0 shutdown innings, allowing just one run on five hits while fanning six hitters…Worked 5.1 innings of four-hit baseball as part of a 2-0 win at Arkansas (March 31) that marked the Bears’ first shutout of the Razorbacks in 46 years…Recorded a career-high seven punchouts vs. Bradley (May 16), then helped the Bears to their third MVC Tournament championship with 4.2 innings against the Braves (May 24) in the title game in which he allowed just two unearned runs on three hits…Received honorable mention MVC Scholar-Athlete team recognition and picked up MVC Academic Honor Roll recognition for the third consecutive season.

2014: Made nine appearances, including five starts, for the Bears as a sophomore, going 1-2 with a 4.25 ERA over 29.2 innings...Made three scoreless relief appearances to start the season, including a 1.1-inning stint at UCA (Feb. 16)...Tossed 7.0 shutout innings against Missouri (April 15) in his first start of the season; allowed just four hits while matching a career high with six strikeouts in the 9-0 victory...Held Kansas to two runs over 5.0 frames on April 23 to help the Bears earn a 6-5 win...Allowed three earned runs on four hits over 6 2/3 innings against Oral Roberts (May 6), striking out six Golden Eagles in a 5-1 setback...Named to the MVC Academic Honor Roll for the second straight year.

2013: Posted a strong freshman campaign, stepping into the Bears' weekend rotation in mid-April and posting a 3.14 earned run average, which was good for 10th in the Missouri Valley Conference...Held the opposition to a .223 batting average (sixth in the MVC) in 12 appearances (10 starts) spanning 57.1 innings...Tossed 6.0 scoreless innings in his first start as a Bear March 12 at Arkansas State, allowing just three hits and a pair of walks in a no-decision...Limited Missouri (April 9) to two runs on eight hits while striking out five over 6.2 innings in a 5-4 loss...Logged his first career win April 21 to complete a three-game sweep of Bradley, fanning a season-high six hitters and giving up just two runs on five hits over 5.2 frames...Worked three consecutive quality starts, April 28-May 12, beginning with 6 1/3 innings against Evansville in which he allowed just one run on four hits while striking out five...Registered a career-long 8.2 inning effort against Wichita State (May 5), permitting just two runs on two hits in a 3-0 setback...Struck out six Wright State (May 12) hitters over 7.0 innings, allowing five hits and one run in a no-decision...Received MVC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award and Honor Roll recognition for his work in the classroom...Posted a 2-2 mark with a 3.86 ERA in 10 appearances for the Glens Falls of the Perfect Game Collegiate League over the summer.

Background: Joined the Missouri State program from Kansas City's Rockhurst High School, where he helped the Hawklets to a state quarterfinal appearance as a senior...Earned first-team all-state honors from the MSSA and the MHSBCA in 2012...The left-handed hurler went 2-2 with a 2.25 ERA as a junior after lifting Rockhurst to district and conference titles, as well as a third-place Missouri Class 4 state tournament finish, as a sophomore in 2010.
