Furlong Earns American Freshman of the Week Honor

IRVING, Texas – The Missouri State men's soccer team added a third American Conference weekly award for the season Monday. The league announced that Ben Furlong was named Freshman of the Week, while 5th year Kei Kinoshita earned an honorable mention honoree.
Furlong, hailing from Liverpool, England, earned the honor after creating a decisive assist in the Bears first goal in Saturday's Mo State 2-1 victory on the road against UC Irvine. Furlong tallied 63 minutes of play.
Kinoshita from Ashiya, Japan earned the honorable mention after scoring the game-winning goal against UC Irvine. Kinoshita registered 56 minutes of play.
The Bears (4-0-0) are back home for their next match on Friday at 7:00 p.m. to compete against FIU at Betty & Bobby Allison South Stadium. Admission is free all season long.
