O'Keefe Brace Powers Missouri State Past Central Arkansas

SPRINGFIELD - Maggie O'Keefe scored twice in the opening 24 minutes and Missouri State women's soccer recorded its third consecutive shutout in a 3-0 Senior Day victory over Central Arkansas Sunday afternoon at Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium.
The win moved the Bears to 2-2-1 on the season, while UCA fell to 1-3-1.
O'Keefe opened the scoring at the 13:55 mark following a Central Arkansas foul. Brooke Cattoor delivered the free kick into the box, where O'Keefe met it with her right foot and tucked it inside the right post.
Less than 10 minutes later, O'Keefe struck again.
Thea Dimitroff drove a dangerous cross through the box, where Ellie Neath got a touch before the ball fell to O'Keefe, who finished from close range at 23:24 to complete her brace. Dimitroff and Neath were both credited with assists on the play.
The hosts carried the 2-0 advantage into halftime after outshooting UCA, 10-3, over the opening 45 minutes.
Neath added the final tally in the 67th minute. Ava Batiuk delivered a free kick into the penalty area, where Neath rose to meet the service and powered a header past goalkeeper Anna Harrell to make it 3-0.
O'Keefe finished with two goals on three shots, placing all three attempts on frame. Neath totaled three points with a goal and an assist, while Cattoor, Dimitroff and Batiuk each contributed an assist.
The home side held a 16-5 advantage in shots and an 8-3 edge in shots on goal. It also generated four corner kicks while limiting Central Arkansas to one.
Kate Lewis made three saves to secure her third consecutive clean sheet. The defense has now gone three straight matches without allowing a goal, posting a 2-0-1 record during the stretch.
Missouri State now heads on the road for three consecutive matches, beginning Thursday, Sept. 3 at Iowa State at 6 p.m. The trip continues Sunday, Sept. 6 at Iowa at 1 p.m. before concluding Thursday, Sept. 10 at Kansas City at 6 p.m.
