Fyffe, Sutherland, Felder Pick Up All-CUSA Baseball Honors

KENNESAW, Ga. – Missouri State's Logan Fyffe, Curry Sutherland and Ross Felder were selected to All-Conference USA baseball teams, the league announced Tuesday after a vote of the conference coaches. Fyffe and Sutherland made the First Team, while Felder is an all-Freshman Team pick.

Fyffe ranks second in CUSA with a .364 batting average and fourth with a .609 slugging percentage, racking up 21 doubles, eight home runs and 42 RBIs. The sophomore shortstop from Springfield, Ohio, ranks 10th nationally in doubles, which included 16 two-baggers in 30 conference games. Fyffe leads the Bears with 20 multi-hit games and has a pair of 11-plus game hitting streaks this season.

Sutherland leads the league with a .629 slugging percentage and is hitting .317 with 15 home runs and 51 RBIs. The junior from Rogersville, Mo., has started all 50 games this season and leads the club with six game-winning RBIs. He has 16 multi-hit games and 14 multi-RBI efforts. On the First Team as a utility player, Sutherland is one of 15 semifinalists for the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award and is 2-0 with 6.94 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 11.2 innings on the mound this year.

Felder is fourth on the Bears with 51.2 innings pitched this season, going 3-2 in 20 appearances with 50 strikeouts against just eight walks. He ranks second in CUSA in both strikeout-to-walk ratio (6.25) and walks per nine innings (1.39) and is the highest-ranked freshman nationally in both categories, sitting at 18th and 14th, respectively. The Springdale, Ark., native owns a share of the Mo State individual season high with nine strikeouts on April 3 against Sam Houston.

The Bears (32-18, 20-10 CUSA) enter this week's conference tournament as the third seed and face off against No. 7 Kennesaw State at 4 p.m. Central on Thursday and fourth-seeded Dallas Baptist at the same time Friday in pool play. Saturday's semifinalists will be determined at the end of Friday's games.
