Fyffe Named Brooks Wallace Player of the Week

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Missouri State's Logan Fyffe was honored Tuesday by the College Baseball Foundation as its Brooks Wallace Award Player of the Week for the nation's most outstanding shortstop.
 
Fyffe batted .471 and reached base safely 14 times in four games last week, posting a .609 on-base percentage and .647 slugging figure with three doubles, four RBIs, six runs, four walks and two hit by pitches.
 
The sophomore from Springfield, Ohio, began the week by reaching three times and scoring once on Tuesday at Missouri. Friday, the shortstop went 3-for-6 with two doubles and three RBIs in the series opener at Delaware.
 
Fyffe reached safely six times on Saturday, going 3-for-3 with a walk, two HBP and two steals, and came around to score five times. He went 1-for-5 on Sunday to help the Bears complete the series sweep of the Blue Hens. Fyffe leads Conference USA with a .391 batting average this season.
 
The Bears are now 24-10 overall and 12-3 in CUSA, and host Missouri on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Hammons Field. Mo State owns the nation's longest active home winning streak at 15 games and is one of just two teams nationally who remain unbeaten at home. Tickets to all home games are available here.
