Pannier Leads Golfers in Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. -- Kiser Pannier led Missouri State women's golf team to an eighth-place finish here Tuesday with a 78-73-75--226 effort at the Magnolia Collegiate.

Pannier's performance placed her in a tie for eighth place on the individual side, just nine strokes behind individual champion Isaki Sakashita of Stetson.

Mo State's Chloe Bolte also finished in the top 25, carding a 78-73-77--228 to finish 21st in the field of 79 individuals.

Host South Alabama (300-301-292--893) took top team honors, edging out West Georgia (896) and Lipscomb (898). The Bears finished with rounds of 317-294-313--924  on the par-72 course at Magnolia Grove Crossings.

Coach Kevin Kane's club will host the Ozarks National Invitational in Hollister next week (March 23-25) in their next outing.

DAY ONE
MOBILE, Ala. -- The Missouri State women's golf team sits in the middle of the pack after Monday's (Mar. 16) first day of the Magnolia Collegiate at the Magnolia Grove Crossings Course.

The Bears were shaky at the start, managing only a 317 in the morning round on a cold, blustery day and were sitting 13th in the 14-team field. However, they bounced back in a big way, posting a 294 for the best afternoon round in the field to move up six places to seventh with a 611 total after 36 holes.

Individually for MoState, senior Kiser Pannier and freshman Chloe Bolte are tied for 13th after shooting identical 78-73--151 scores. Junior Coyee Zhang is tied for 22nd after going from 82 in the morning round to a one-under-par 71 in the afternoon for a 153 total. Junior Kyleigh Pfitzner is tied for 47th with 80-77--157, while sophomore Marlee Edgeman is tied for 59th while playing as an individual at 78-82--160. Junior Tierney Baumstark is a shot behind at 81-80--161.

Lipscomb and West Georgia are tied for the lead entering Tuesday's final round with 599 team totals, while host South Alabama is two back at 601 and Stetson is fourth with 602.
