SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Missouri State Acrobatics and Tumbling earned a statement victory Friday night, defeating No. 15 La Salle while recording a new program high score of 246.830.

Missouri State opened the meet with steady work in compulsory, highlighted by a 9.450 in the pyramid heat, and finished the event with a 34.95 to take an early lead over the ranked La Salle.

The Bears began to create separation in acro, posting a 9.400 in the seven-element heat and finishing with a 27.05 total.

Pyramid proved to be the turning point of the night. Missouri State delivered three strong heats, including a near flawless 9.950 in the open heat, the highest scoring heat of the meet. The routine featured Anna Warring, Kylynn Hanson, Sawyer Lee, Sofia Calero, Destiny McDonald, Abbie Henderlight, Briana Milton and Isabella Bezerra. The Bears finished the event with a 29.00 total.

Missouri State continued to push its score in toss before turning in another strong performance in tumbling. The Bears posted a 9.250 in the aerial pass and a 9.400 in the open pass, contributing to a 49.650 event total.

The Bears closed the meet with an 82.030 in the team event, sealing the victory and pushing the final score to 246.830, the highest total ever recorded by the program.

With the win over No. 15 La Salle, Missouri State continues its rapid rise in just its second season of competition, once again rewriting the record book inside Hammons Student Center.
 
Missouri State now hits the road for a three meet stretch, traveling to Texas Lutheran on March 5, Azusa Pacific on March 19 and Augustana on April 4.
