
Acro Bears Set Program Record in Senior Day Finale

SPRINGFIELD - Missouri State acrobatics and tumbling closed the 2026 regular season with another milestone performance Thursday night, setting a new program record for total meet score in a narrow 254.155-254.170 loss to Morgan State on Senior Day at Hammons Student Center. In front of a record-setting home crowd, the Bears pushed the visiting Bears to the wire before the final margin was decided by just 0.015 points.
Despite the tight result, Missouri State put together one of its strongest meets of the season and led for much of the night. The Bears' 254.155 surpassed the previous program-best mark and capped a strong late-season rise for the second-year program.
Missouri State opened the meet with a 37.35 in compulsory, highlighted by a 9.750 in pyramid, a 9.650 in toss and a 9.000 in tumbling. The Bears continued to build in acro, posting a 27.80 behind a 9.600 in the five-element heat and a 9.250 in the six-element heat.
Pyramid added another steady event total at 27.05, led by a 9.450 in the synchronized heat and a 9.600 in the open heat. Missouri State followed with a 26.90 in toss, including an 8.800 in the synchronized heat and a 9.200 in the open heat.
Tumbling proved to be one of the team's biggest strengths on the night, as the Bears recorded a 51.675 event total. Missouri State earned a 9.400 in the aerial pass, a 9.525 in the six-element pass and an 8.450 in the trio pass to stay within striking distance entering the final event. The Bears then closed with an 83.380 in the team event to lock in the record-setting final score.
On a night dedicated to honoring the program's seniors, Missouri State delivered another breakthrough performance and closed the regular season with the highest team score in program history.
