The Lady Bear Necessities
  • Missouri State women's basketball is set to begin a four-game home stand over a seven day period, starting Thursday night (6:30 p.m., ESPN+) with a visit from Liberty. These four games mark the final regular season home games for the Lady Bears.
  • Thursday's meeting marks the second all-time meeting between the Lady Bears and the Flames. The first came earlier this season with Liberty winning 60-52 in Lynchburg. MoState had three Lady Bears in double figures in that game, led by Kaemyn Bekemeier with 24 points and 7 rebounds.
  • Kaemyn Bekemeier leads MoState this season with 17.9 ppg, 8.2 rpg and 46 three-pointers. She is 25 points away from 1,000 for her career. The 5-9 guard is 1 of just 12 players in NCAA DI with at least 440 points and 200 rebounds, and is one of just two players under 6'0" to do so. Bekemeier leads CUSA in overall points/game and in conference games (18.8). More information on Bekemeier on pg. 5.
  • The second member of MoState's dynamic duo Lainie Douglas (So., Overland Park, Kan.) is averaging 13.3 points per game, 6.8 rebounds per game and leads the team with a .541 FG% in CUSA games. She owns 31 blocks on the season, which is third in Conference USA.
  • As a team, Missouri State ranks inside the top 15 nationally in: free throw made/game (8th - 16.7) and free throw attempts/game (13th - 22.3). The Lady Bears lead CUSA and rank 69th nationally in FT% at 74.7 percent. Bekemeier ranks inside the top 20 nationally in FTM (10th - 136) and FTA (17th - 164).
  • In the Cunningham era, Missouri State is 54-7 when scoring 70+ points, 61-4 when holding opponents to 65 points or less and 46-0 when opponents score less than 60 points. Missouri State is 0-5 this season when allowing 70 or more points.
  • "Fresh" Faces - MoState's freshman trio (Brueggen, Hopkins, Washington) and redshirt freshman JaNyla Bush are making an immediate impact. Washington is coming off a double-double performance including a career-high 13 rebounds and Bush dished out a career-high 8 assists at LA Tech. The four have consistently been the first options off the bench.
  • Second-Half Adjustments - MoState is -17 on the scoreboard in the first half this season, but flips the switch at the break to own a +100 point differential against its opponents in the second half of games. Against CUSA opponents, the Lady Bears are +4 in the first half and +58 in the second half.
  • Battle on the Boards - MoState is 14-3 this season when out-rebounding opponents, but is just 1-7 when losing the battle on the boards.
  • Since the beginning of the 2017-18 season, MSU has compiled a 104-17 record inside Great Southern Bank Arena, while boasting an 83-12 record since the start of the 2019-20 season.
