The Lady Bear Necessities
- Missouri State women's basketball continues its four-game home stand with a visit from fellow new Conference USA member Delaware (1:00 p.m., ESPN+). Saturday's game will serve as Senior Day and the Lady Bears will honor 5 players in a pregame ceremony (Victoria Dixon, Faith Lee, Maycee James, Angel Scott and Cady Pauley).
- Saturday's meeting marks just the second-ever between the two squads with the other meeting coming earlier this year in Newark. The Lady Bears went on the road and earned a 79-54 win as Lainie Douglas led the way with 17 pts and Kaemyn Bekemeier posted a 16-point, 12-rebound double-double.
- Kaemyn Bekemeier leads MoState this season with 18.0 ppg, 8.2 rpg and 49 three-pointers. She is 6 points away from 1,000 for her career. She would become the 32nd Lady Bear in program history to reach the 1,000 point mark. The 5-9 guard is 1 of just 10 players in NCAA DI with at least 450 points and 210 rebounds, and is one of just two players under 6'0" to do so. Bekemeier leads CUSA in overall points/game and in conference games (18.8). More information on Bekemeier on pg. 5.
- The second member of MoState's dynamic duo Lainie Douglas (So., Overland Park, Kan.) is averaging 12.6 points per game, 6.5 rebounds per game and leads the team with a .526 FG% in CUSA games. She owns 34 blocks on the season, which is third in Conference USA.
- As a team, Missouri State ranks inside the top 20 nationally in: free throw made/game (8th - 16.6) and free throw attempts/game (16th - 22.1). The Lady Bears lead CUSA and rank 63rd nationally in FT% at 75.1 percent. Bekemeier ranks inside the top 15 nationally in FTM (8th - 142) and FTA (15th - 170).
- In the Cunningham era, Missouri State is 54-7 when scoring 70+ points, 61-5 when holding opponents to 65 points or less and 46-1 when opponents score less than 60 points. Missouri State is 0-5 this season when allowing 70 or more points.
- Second-Half Adjustments - MoState is -17 on the scoreboard in the first half this season, but flips the switch at the break to own a +88 point differential against its opponents in the second half of games. Against CUSA opponents, the Lady Bears are +4 in the first half and +46 in the second half.
- Battle on the Boards - MoState is 14-3 this season when out-rebounding opponents, but is just 1-8 when losing the battle on the boards. Missouri State ranks first in CUSA and 85th nationally with 26.7 defensive rebounds per game.
- Since the beginning of the 2017-18 season, MSU has compiled a 104-19 record inside Great Southern Bank Arena, while boasting an 83-13 record since the start of the 2019-20 season.
