SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Missouri State acrobatics and tumbling competed in its first and only tri-meet of the 2026 season Friday night at Hammons Student Center, posting yet another program-high score of 245.130 against No. 5 Augustana and Presbyterian.
 
The Bears earned their first win of the season with a victory over Presbyterian, finishing just ahead of the Blue Hose (243.695), while Augustana claimed the tri-meet with a 265.485.
 
Missouri State opened the meet with a strong showing in the compulsory event, highlighted by a 9.700 in the pyramid heat. The Bears totaled 34.850 in the opening event to set the tone early.
 
Missouri State continued to build momentum in the acro event, recording a 26.300 behind solid execution across all three heats. The Bears followed with a 26.450 in pyramid, led by a 9.800 in the open heat to close the event.
 
In the toss event, Missouri State scored a 26.400 with consistent performances across the three heats, before posting a 49.500 in tumbling. The Bears delivered strong routines in the aerial, six-element and open passes to produce their highest event total of the second half.
 
Missouri State closed the night with an 81.630 in the team event to secure the record-setting 245.130 total in front of the home crowd.
 
The Bears return to action on Feb. 27 when they host No. 15 La Salle in their final home meet of the 2026 season until April 9 when Missouri State faces Morgan State in the Battle of the Bears, which also includes senior night.
