On the Pitch
- Missouri State closes the home portion of its regular-season schedule Sunday against FIU at 1 p.m. CT at Betty & Bobby Allison South Stadium. The match will air on ESPN+ and admission is free.
- The Bears enter Sunday 4-7-4 overall and 1-2-3 in Conference USA play following a 2-1 victory over Kennesaw State on Thursday.
- Missouri State enters the weekend sixth in the CUSA standings with six points, just one point behind both FIU and NM State. Kennesaw State also has six points, while Middle Tennessee, Sam Houston and Jacksonville State each have five. The top eight teams advance to the CUSA Tournament.
- With only two conference matches remaining, Sunday carries major postseason implications. A Missouri State victory would move the Bears to nine points and ahead of FIU entering the regular-season finale at Liberty.
- Missouri State is unbeaten in its last three CUSA matches, collecting five points with draws against Middle Tennessee and NM State before Thursday's victory over Kennesaw State.
- All six of Missouri State's CUSA matches have been decided by one goal or ended in a draw, with the Bears allowing no more than one goal in each contest.
- Missouri State has allowed exactly one goal in all six of its CUSA matches, surrendering just six goals across 540 minutes of conference play.
- The Bears have not lost at Allison South Stadium since the season opener against Kansas on Aug. 16, going 4-0-3 over their last seven home matches.
- Missouri State has been particularly strong defensively at home. Since the season opener, the Bears have allowed just four goals in seven matches at Allison South Stadium while recording three shutouts.
- Fourteen of Missouri State's 15 goals this season have come at home. The Bears have scored in five consecutive matches at Allison South Stadium, totaling 13 goals during that stretch.
- Missouri State controlled much of Thursday's 2-1 victory over Kennesaw State, finishing with an 11-8 advantage in shots, a 4-1 edge in shots on goal and a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks. The Bears did not allow a shot on goal after halftime.
- Ellie Neath powered Thursday's victory with the first multi-goal performance of her Missouri State career, scoring in the fourth minute before delivering the game-winner in the 35th.
- Neath has moved into the team lead with 11 points on four goals and a team-high three assists. Lillie Rasmussen also has four goals, while Maggie O'Keefe has three goals and two assists.
- Head coach Kirk Nelson enters Sunday with 48 career victories and is just two wins shy of reaching the 50-win milestone.
- Goalkeeper Kate Lewis has played 1,282:05 this season, recording 51 saves, a .718 save percentage, a 1.40 goals-against average and three shutouts.
- Sunday will be just the second meeting between Missouri State and FIU and the Panthers' first trip to Springfield. The programs played to a 1-1 draw last season in Miami.
- FIU enters Sunday 5-6-4 overall and 2-3-1 in CUSA play with seven conference points following a 3-1 victory at Sam Houston on Thursday.
