First and Ten Notes
- Missouri State continues its Weekday CUSA march through the month of October on Tuesday evening (6 p.m. Central) when the Bears square off with fellow CUSA sophomore Delaware on ESPNU. The nationally-televised showdown will mark the first-ever meeting between the schools.
- Leading the nation in total tackles (70), LB Jared Lloyd (5th yr, Daytona Beach, Fla.) also leads Conference USA in tackles per game (11.7) which is No. 2 nationally heading into the weekend. He has recorded double-figure tackles in 4 straight games and in 7 of his last 9 contests overall. "Bird" also ranks 13th nationally in solo tackles per game (5.33), which is 3rd in CUSA.
- The Bears are playing their third conference game in 12 days with previous CUSA matchups this month at WKU (Oct. 8), and vs. Kennesaw State (Oct. 14).
- Missouri State is 4-1 in nationally-televised Weekday CUSA games. The Bears are also 9-2 in their last 10 October games (5-2 on the road).
- WR Isaiah Myers (5th yr., Cincinnati, Ohio) has emerged as one of the top receivers in CUSA, ranking No. 1 in the league in receiving yards (554), yards per game (92.3), total touchdowns (6) and receiving TDs (5). He is also 2nd in CUSA in yards per reception (20.52), 4th in all-purpose yards (97.3), and 6th in receptions per game (4.50). Last week vs. Kennesaw, he had 7 receptions for 135 yards and 2 TDs.
- Nationally, Myers ranks 3rd in FBS in 30+ yard receptions (7), 4th in 20+ yard receptions (11), 9th in yards per reception, 12th in receiving yards, 15th in receiving TDs, 16th in receiving yards per game and 35th in total touchdowns. Â
- Now with 155 career catches, WR Jmariyae Robinson (5th yr., Cocoa, Fla.) has broken Missouri State's career receptions record, eclipsing the previous mark of 150 receptions by All-America TE Clay Harbor (2006-09) in last week's game vs. Kennesaw. Robinson also ranks No. 6 in program history in receiving yards (1,934) and No. 5 in TD receptions (16). He is just 287 yards from matching Jermaine Saffold's (2009-11) career receiving yardage record (2,221). Â
- In his first start at Missouri State -- and second career start overall -- QB Henry Belin IV (5th yr., New York, N.Y.) logged career-highs by completing 28-of-39 passes for 300 yards and 2 touchdowns in last week's win over Kennesaw State. He accounted for 324 of the team's 421 yards of total offense and engineered 5 scoring drives while completing 10-of-10 passes on third down (123 yards). His 28 completions vs. Kennesaw State matched the 5th-most in school history.
- On special teams, the Bears rank 3rd in Conference USA in both kickoff coverage (19.77) and punt return average (9.50). Mo State's primary returner, Jmariyae Robinson, ranks 2nd in CUSA (48th nationally) in punt return average (7.1).
- K Yousef Obeid (Sr., Dearborn, Mich.) was 3-for-3 on FG vs. Kennesaw, pushing him to 28th nationally in field goal percentage (.875) and 36th in field goals per game (1.40). He has converted 32 straight extra points and is tied for 10th in program history in scoring (192).
- Starting corners Joel Kpassou (Sr., Cleveland, Ohio) and Joel Boamah (Sr., Newark, N.J.) both rank among the FBS leaders in passes defended per game (1.00), which is tied for 27th nationally and 2nd in CUSA.
