DALLAS – Missouri State volleyball will be in action twice this weekend at Hammons Student Center for final tune-ups before the season opener on Aug. 29, while Conference USA released its preseason poll on Thursday with the Bears predicted for a ninth-place finish in their inaugural season in the 12-team league.

The Bears' busy weekend begins Friday at 5:30 p.m. with the Maroon and White Scrimmage followed by the Alumni Match at 6:30.

On Saturday at 3 p.m., MoState gets a chance to test itself against Central Arkansas in an exhibition match. Admission is free for all weekend events.

Missouri State checked in at No. 9 in the CUSA preseason poll as voted on by the league's coaches, receiving 45 points in a tightly grouped set of four teams in the seventh through 10th spots.

Western Kentucky was picked the preseason favorite, narrowly edging UTEP.

The regular season begins for the Bears Aug. 29 and 30 at the Wildcat Classic hosted by Abilene Christian. MSU will play Oklahoma, ACU and Incarnate Word at the event.
