TORONTO – Former Missouri State catcher
Dylan Leach signed a minor league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday after spending the first part of his professional career with the independent Billings Mustangs.
Leach's signing brings Missouri State's current number of alumni playing in the affiliated ranks to 11. He will begin his Blue Jays career with the organization's Florida Complex League squad.
In 51 games over the last two seasons in Billings, Leach batted .324 with 25 extra-base hits following a stellar senior year with the Bears in 2024. A first-team all-Missouri Valley Conference pick that season, Leach batted .298 with 16 home runs, 15 doubles and 48 RBIs. The Carthage, Texas, native slugged .616 and shared the team lead with 14 multi-RBI games while leading the Missouri Valley Conference with 20 runners caught stealing.
