SPRINGFIELD -- Missouri State Director of Athletics Patrick Ransdell has announced the addition of Nathan Hiles to the Bears Athletics Staff. Hiles has recently accepted the position of Compliance Coordinator within the department and will serve under Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance Amanda Schmelzer with an official start date of May 27.

"We are excited to welcome Nate to Missouri State," said Schmelzer."He brings a critical skill set to the compliance office and will be a tremendous asset to our staff and student-athletes."

Originally from Cincinnati, he attended Ohio State University where he graduated cum laude with a degree in Education in 2020. He was on the Dean's List for five semesters and was active in the Sports Business Club on the Columbus campus. 

His professional experience includes intern opportunities with the NCAA Enforcement Office (2024), the Athletic Compliance office at UW Milwaukee (2024) and the Athletic Compliance department at the University of Minnesota (2024-25). 

He is currently a Juris Doctor candidate at Marquette Law School in Milwaukee as well as a sports law certificate candidate from the National Sports Law Institute. 

His hire is contingent upon final approval by the Missouri State University Board of Governors at its next scheduled meeting.
