Missouri State tennis will close out its home matches with a Saturday match against Belmont and a Sunday match against Murray State.
The Bears sit fifth in the Missouri Valley Conference standings with a 2-2 conference record. Belmont is just above MoState in fourth with a 3-1 Valley Record. Murray State leads the pack with a 4-0 record.
Missouri State sophomore Tuana Gunal was named MVC Singles Player of the Week after winning her No. 1 singles matches against Bradley (4/4) and Illinois State (4/6).
Last time out, MoState secured a 5-2 win over Bradley before battling Illinois State to a 4-3 loss.
Gunal and senior Sandra Lukacova forced their singles matches to a third set to close the gap between the two teams. Gunal won her tiebreaker 10-5 and Lukacova won hers 13-11.
Sunday will be senior day for Lukacova and Amy Henning.
Bears tennis legend Ellie Burger will return to Cooper Tennis Complex as the head coach at Belmont.
