MARSHALL, Tex. – Missouri State acrobatics and tumbling earned its first win in program history over East Texas Baptist, 202.560 – 188.365, on the road Monday night.
The Bears (1-5) won 13 out of 20 heats throughout the meet with wins in the compulsory, pyramid, toss, tumbling and team events. Missouri State continued to be dominant in the pyramid event with its first-ever event sweep winning all three heats with a score of 27.80 to 23.35.
MoState saw its second and third highest single heat scores in the pyramid event. In heat one, the Bears scored a 9.45 out of 10 thanks to an inverted pyramid skill performed by

Kaela Belmore and
Isabella Bezerra. During the third pyramid, the open heat,
EllaRose Gosier, Calip, Bezerra and McNeely lifted
Issy Lombardo to a 9.55 out of 10, the highest heat score of the day from either team.
Event 6 sealed the victory for the Bears. Going into the event, Missouri State led 140.80 to 129.825. In just their second time competing in the final event, MoState scored a 61.760 to ETBU's 58.54 to secure their first win.
The Bears will stay out on the road for the rest of the season. They will head to South Dakota on Saturday for a rematch with No. 4 Augustana at 2:00 p.m. The meet will be livestreamed through Augustana's athletics website.
