PADUCAH, Ky. – Missouri State women's tennis dropped a neutral-site match 5-2 against long-time foe Southeast Missouri State on Friday.
The Bears 1-2 punch in singles was not enough to put the Bears ahead.
Tuana Gunal defeated SEMO's Lera Valeeva 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 1 match.
At No. 2,
Billur Gonlusen battled Tontha Tadoum from SEMO. The junior took the first set 7-5 to avoid going into a tiebreaker. Gonlusen then pushed ahead in the second set to win 6-3.
Missouri State will continue its visit to Paducah, Ky. with a Saturday morning match against North Alabama for the first time in team history. The match will be played at Rowton Paul Indoor Tennis Center unless the weather permits an outside match. If outside, it will be held at Larry Heflin Tennis Center.
