OMAHA, Neb. - The Missouri State diving team concluded its two-day stay at the Omaha Diving Invite on Saturday following a strong showing on Friday.
Storm Opdahl opened the first day of the meet with a win in the men's 3-meter dive (305.45), headlining a 1-2-4 finish by Missouri State in the event.
Logan Schelfaut (283.95) was second and
Cole Hysong (256.85) took home fourth.
On Saturday, Opdahl followed up his 3-meter win with a runner-up result in the 1-meter dive (313.85), only seven points behind host team Omaha's Owen Kipp (320.60). Opdahl's score was his second-highest of the season and second-highest by a Bear in the event this year.
On the women's side,
Maggie Arceneaux was the lead Bear in both the 1-meter dive on Friday and the 3-meter dive on Saturday. Arceneaux finished third in the 1-meter (243.90). Arceneaux led the Bears with an eighth-place showing in the field of 20 divers in Saturday's 3-meter dive (237.20).
Missouri State swimming & diving will reunite next for the Missouri Valley Conference Championships. The men's team will open the championship festivities from Feb. 19-22 in Oxford, Ohio. The women's team will compete for its ninth consecutive MVC championship the following week in Waukee, Iowa from Feb. 26-March 1, concluding in exactly one month.
