December 29, 2025

DALLAS – Missouri State women's basketball's Kaemyn Bekemeier and Maiesha Washington swept this week's Conference USA honors, the league announced today (Dec. 29).

Bekemeier (Jr., Republic, Mo.) earns her second CUSA Player of the Week award this season. In a four-point win over Central Arkansas last Monday, she posted career highs in points (24), rebounds (14) and assists (5). It marked her 12th double-figure scoring performance in 13 games on the season and she tallied her fifth 20-point performance this year.

The 5-9 guard is the only player in Conference USA with over 200 total points and ranks second in the league in points per game (17.2). Defensively, Bekemeier leads CUSA in defensive rebounds per game with 7.1.

Washington (Fr., Fayetteville, Ark.) collects the first weekly award of her career with a CUSA Freshman of the Week nod. In the win over Central Arkansas, she scored a career-high 14 points and matched her career best with eight rebounds. Washington shot 50 percent (5-10) from the field and went 4-for-6 at the charity stripe, while adding an assist and a steal on the afternoon.

The 6-0 forward has played in all 13 games this season for the Lady Bears and is averaging the fifth-most minutes per game on the squad. She averages 6.5 points and 4.6 rebounds per game this year.

The Lady Bears return to action on Sunday, Jan. 4 as they begin their first run through Conference USA with a matchup at FIU. Tipoff against the Panthers is set for 12:00 p.m. CT and the game will stream on ESPN+.
