SPRINGFIELD – Visiting Western Kentucky took down Missouri State in straight sets Saturday afternoon at Hammons Student Center by set scores of 25-20, 25-13, 25-14 to complete the Conference USA weekend series.

The Hilltoppers (13-4, 4-0) hit a blistering .489 in the contest on their way to a 96
th consecutive CUSA victory. The Bears (5-10, 0-4) had a solid offensive performance as well with a .213 efficiency, led by freshman
Peyton McKee's 12 kills.

The first set was tied 15 times with four lead changes to a 19-19 tie before WKU closed on a 6-1 run. MoState hit .333 in the set behind five McKee kills.

The Bears grabbed a 9-7 lead in the second set, but it was all Tops after that as WKU made just two hitting errors in the final two periods while hitting a combined .532 with 35 kills.

Brooke Eslinger led the MSU defense with 12 digs,
Grace Smith had two blocks and
Kya Johnson served MSU's lone ace.

Missouri State is on the road next week for matches at Jacksonville State on Oct. 10 and 11.
