American Conference Men's Soccer Weekly Awards
IRVING, Texas - Missouri State men's soccer senior goalkeeper Jonathan Kliewer has been named the American Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, and freshman Harry Hogben has been named the American Conference Freshman of the Week. The league announced both awards on Monday.
Kliewer received the honor of Goalkeeper of the Week by posting two consecutive shutout performances in goal. He made four brilliant saves across the Bears' 1-0 victories against Drake and Memphis.
Hogben received the honor of Freshman of the Week after his standout performances in defense, holding the backline in the Bears' latest two victories. As a true freshman he started both games and played for all 90 minutes.
Senior Harry Jolley received an honorable mention after scoring a stunning header in the Bears victory against Memphis.
Junior Alex Matthews also received an honorable mention for his strong mid-field performances in both games against Drake and Memphis.
Up next, the Bears continue American Conference play at Tulsa on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m., before wrapping up the regular season at home on Sunday, Nov. 2 against Charlotte (6 p.m.).
