SPRINGFIELD - The Missouri State diving team will set off for the Omaha Diving Invite starting Friday evening (Jan. 31) and concluding Saturday afternoon (Feb. 1). This will be the first time the diving Bears have competed in a meet independent from the swimming team since the 2019 NCAA Zone D Diving Championships.
The first day of the meet at
H&K Pool will begin Friday at 6:00 p.m. CT with the women competing in the 1-meter dive and the men in the 3-meter dive. The roles will flip on Saturday starting at noon with the women taking on the 3-meter dive and the men in the 1-meter dive. There will be a team event to close out the meet on Saturday.
Bears Diving Splashes (Women)
- Maggie Arceneaux owns Missouri State's highest-scoring 1-meter dive of the season (275.40 vs. Drury on Oct. 26, 2024), which was a personal best. The score marks the third-best 1-meter dive in the Missouri Valley Conference this season behind Illinois State's Eva Reyes (301.80) and Little Rock's Kyra Apodaca (289.20). Arceneaux finished second against Omaha in the 1-meter dive on Nov. 2 with a score of 249.68. She has four event wins this season, including in the 1-meter dive last week against UIC.
- Courtney Stanbury owns the Bears' highest-scoring 3-meter dive of the season (262.58 vs. Drury on Oct. 26, 2024), which was also a personal best. She also scored a personal best of 261.38 in the 1-meter dive at the same meet. Stanbury led the Bears in the 3-meter dive against Omaha back Nov. 1 (335.65) to finish fourth in the event. Her one event win this season was against Drury in the 3-meter dive.
Bears Diving Splashes (Men)
- Storm Opdahl owns Missouri State's best score in the 1-meter dive this season (324.28 vs. Drury on Oct. 26, 2024). The score marks the third-best 1-meter dive in the MVC this season behind UIC divers Harrison Nolan (388.13) and Cole Tremewan (371.03).Â
- Opdahl set a personal best in the 3-meter dive against Drury on Oct. 26 (349.95) which is also Missouri State's top score in the event this season. His one event win this season came in a dual meet against Omaha where he scored a 336.75 on Nov. 2.
