JONESBORO, Ark. – Missouri State women's tennis dropped its first spring dual of the season at Arkansas State, 5-2, on Friday night.

Senior
Nicole Ross secured the Bears' lone point with her singles win at No. 3. Ross was blanked by ASU's Sarah Millard in the first set but pushed the match to three total sets with a successful tiebreaker in the second set. The Malaysian native won the second set 7-6 (8-6) then rushed into the third set to win 6-3 and take the match.

Freshman
Romy Pols also pushed her match to three sets in her first match as a Bear in the No. 6 flight. Arkansas State's Ariadna Fernandez took the first set 6-4, but Pols took the second by the same score to keep the fight going. Ultimately, Fernandez was victorious with a 10-5 final set.

The doubles duo of
Sandra Lukacova and
Raluca Puscas secured a win in their first match as a pair. Lukacova and Puscas defeated Millard and Loles Carbo Chova, 6-4, in the No. 3 spot.

The Bears head to South Dakota next for a Thursday match at noon then make the trip down to a familiar program at Creighton at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
