The Missouri State tennis team (7-4) is taking a tour of Louisiana this week with three matches ahead. The Bears will kick off their trip with a match at McNeese State (13-1) on March 11 at 1:00 p.m. before facing Southeastern Louisiana (6-7) at 6:00 p.m. on March 12. Missouri State will wrap up the week with a match at New Orleans (3-4) at 2:00 p.m. on March 15.
McNeese leads the Bears 2-0 in the series and New Orleans leads 1-0, since 1984. MoState will be facing Southeastern Louisiana for the first time.
Two Bears own won streaks in singles. Nicole Ross has won seven straight matches at No. 6 and Cristina Flaquer has won four straight matches at No. 1.
The duo of Tuana Gunal and Juliette Robinson own a three-match win streak in doubles.
The Bears remain undefeated (5-0) when they secure the early doubles point and 2-4 when they do not.
So far this season, the Bears have forced seven matches to go to a third set. Mary Houston has forced the most with four matches in which she has a 3-1 record.
Last time out, MoState lost a close match to SIUE, 4-3. The Bears had wins at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 6 singles.
With seven wins this season, head coach Ellie Burger has matched her season win total with last season's.
