Women's Soccer Set to Take on Illinois State

The first-place Missouri State women's soccer team has the chance to clinch the outright Missouri Valley Conference regular season title on Thursday when it faces Illinois State at 4:00 p.m.
With only two matches left in conference play, the Bears have secured at least part of the regular-season tile as well as the No. 1 seed, a double-bye in the MVC tournament and hosting rights for the semifinal and final round.
MoState sits atop the MVC standings with 22 points and a 7-0-1 record.
The Bears secured their homefield advantage due to a game-winning goal from Kaeli Benedict in the 86th minute of the game at SIU.
Julia Kristensen leads the Bears in scoring with five goals this season. She is tied for third in the conference. Reilly Heman, Benedict and Grace O'Keefe are just behind her with four goals each.
Kristensen is also leading the Bears in assists. She currently has nine with three multi-assist matches (9/29 vs. Indiana State, 10/6 vs. Belmont, 10/13 vs. UIC). Kristensen is first in the MVC and tied for fifth nationally in total assists. She is also tied for 12th in the country in assists per game.
G. O'Keefe is leading the Bears and the Valley in shots on-goal with 26 out of 36. With four goals, O'Keefe leads the nation in shot accuracy.
The Bears are taking shots and making them count. With 22 goals, 142 shots on-goal and 247 shots attempted, the Bears sit No. 6 in the country in shot accuracy and first in the conference in total shots.
