Baseline Knowledge

The Missouri State tennis team is starting their dual season on the road with a Saturday match against Iowa State followed by a Sunday neutral-site meeting against South Dakota.
In the spring season, MoState has a 1-2 all-time record against Iowa State and is tied with South Dakota 1-1 all-time since 1984.
This year, the Bears have added three transfers and two freshmen to build out the roster.
Four Bears ended the fall season with winning singles records: Cristina Flaquer (7-4), Tuana Gunal (6-3), Sandra Lukacova (5-4) and Juliette Robinson (8-3).
Lukacova was the runner-up in the sixth flight at the 2023 Missouri Valley Conference Individual Championships.
Flaquer, Mary Houston and Lisa Muehlbauer all finished in fourth place in their respective flights.
Flaquer ended the fall season with an exit in the Round of 64 at the ITA Regional Championship.
Missouri State was picked to finish eighth in the MVC Preseason Poll. Drake received the first-place spot with four votes. Illinois State received three votes to land in the second-place spot and Belmont and Murray State each received one vote each to tie for third.
Head coach Ellie Burger enters her second season at the helm of the Bears. Last season, the team finished the year with a 7-15 record.
