Final Results
COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The Missouri State women's golf team placed eighth Wednesday (Sept. 27) at the Johnie Imes Invitational at the Club at Old Hawthorne. The Bears slipped a spot in the final round, shooting 302 after 295-299 in the first two rounds for an 896 total in their second tournament of the season.
Senior
Kayla Pfitzner paced MSU for the tournament and finished 14th after carding 70-71-77--218, while sophomore
Kiser Pannier fired a one-under-par 71 in Wednesday's final round to lead the way for the Bears' five-person team. Senior
Chayenne Chivrac boasted the low round of the day, though, with a 70 while playing an an individual. She tied for 35th overall with 79-76-70--225, while freshman
Tierney Baumstark had the same score on rounds of 73-76-76.
Pannier and senior
Johanna Wollenhaupt tied for 43rd with 228 totals; Pannier carded 79-78-71 and Wollenhaupt had 74-76-78. Junior
Helena Bel tied for 54th after shooting 78-76-78--232.
Lipscomb took the team title by two shots over host Missouri, 860-862, while Florida International (870), Oral Roberts (871) and Morehead State (874) rounded out the top five in the 13-team field.
The Bears are back in action next week at the Big O Classic in Omaha, Neb. They'll play 36 holes Monday and 18 Tuesday (Oct. 2-3) at Oak Hills Country Club.
