CARBONDALE, Ill. – Missouri State's volleyball team wrapped up the regular season Wednesday evening with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-13) loss at Southern Illinois and now turns its attention to the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament, which the Bears will host at Hammons Student Center from Nov. 19-22.
Missouri State (15-15, 9-9 MVC) will be the No. 7 seed and take on sixth-seeded Illinois State (12-18, 10-8) at 6 p.m. Sunday. The winner advances to play No. 3 UIC at 6 p.m. Monday.
The Salukis (19-10, 11-7) locked up the fourth seed by hitting .301 against the Bears on Wednesday at Davies Gym, owning a 50-30 kill advantage across the three sets.
SIU had 19 kills on .472 hitting in the opening set and used a 7-1 run midway through to take an 18-15 lead on the Bears before pulling away.
Missouri State battled back from a 6-1 deficit in the second set, gaining its first lead at 19-18. The teams exchanged 4-0 runs after that with 
Morgan Sprague's ace putting the Bears up 23-22, but SIU scored the final three points for the two-point victory.
The third set was all SIU with the home team owning an 18-5 lead in kills to complete the sweep.
Maddy Bushnell hit .474 with 11 kills to lead the MSU offense. Sprague collected her ninth consecutive double-double with 23 assists and 12 digs. 
Teagan Polcovich had a match-high 16 digs.
