SPRINGFIELD -- The Missouri State tennis team will make its home debut this weekend as the Bears host the Missouri Valley Conference Individual Championships, Friday through Sunday at Cooper Tennis Complex.

The Bears will compete in seven flights of singles matches and three flights of doubles. Each flight contains a bracket featuring between five to 11 players in singles or nine doubles teams.

The fall season is well underway for MSU. The Bears have already competed in two different invitationals. In singles, Cristina Flaquer and Juliette Robinson have led the team in wins, each starting the season with 5-1 marks. Flaquer will play in the first flight and Robinson in the third.

In doubles, Nicole Ross and Sandra Lukacova have found their stride as a team. The pair also has a 5-1 record and have won four matches in a row.

Competition will start at 9:00 a.m. each day at Cooper Tennis Complex. Admission is free.
