Storylines for the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational
1) Missouri State begins the 2022 campaign at home with the annual Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational at Hammons Student Center. Tennessee Tech, Central Arkansas and Oral Roberts come to Springfield for this year's event. The Bears are at home on opening weekend for just the second time in the last 15 seasons (2019).
2) Missouri State is 18-5 at home and 13-4 in non-conference matches under third-year head coach
Steven McRoberts. The Bears own a winning record at Hammons Student Center in 23 consecutive seasons and have won 77 percent of their matches in 46 years in the facility.
3) McRoberts was the head coach at weekend opponent Central Arkansas from 2005-10, compiling a 146-58 record and winning Southland Conference Coach of the Year honors three times at UCA. McRoberts is 2-0 against UCA as MSU's head coach.
4) MSU has 18 games scheduled in Missouri this season, with three-game tournaments at Missouri and Saint Louis in addition to 12 home contests.
5) The Bears went 4-1 in five-set matches last season and are 10-5 under Coach McRoberts when going the distance.
6) Missouri State has won 21 consecutive matches when winning the first set, a streak that dates to February 2021.
7) MSU senior
Azyah Green averaged 1.17 blocks per set last season, the highest figure at Missouri State since 2006. She led the Bears in blocking in each of her first three seasons, becoming the first player to lead the club three years in a row since All-Ameican Linette White did it in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
8) Sophomore middle
Maddy Bushnell set an MSU freshman record and led the MVC with a .343 attack percentage last season. Her efficiency ranked sixth overall for a season at MSU.
9) MSU has notched the top two ace averages since the 25-point scoring era began (2008) in the last two seasons, posting 1.61 per set in 2020-21 and 1.38 last season. This year's roster has served a combined 127 aces in the Maroon and White.
Series Histories
Missouri State is 2-0 against Tennessee Tech, winning 2-0 in 1978 in Carbondale, Ill., and 3-0 in 2007 in Chattanooga, Tenn.
   MSU is 3-0 versus Central Arkansas, winning in Springfield in 2012 and 2020 and in Conway last season.
   The Bears are 30-10 all-time against ORU, and won the most recent meeting in the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational in 2021.
