
Golfers Cited for Excellence in the Classroom

Four members of the Missouri State men's golf team have been honored by the Golf Coaches Association of America for their achievements in the classroom this past school year. Max Kreikemeier, Carter Lee, Alex Locke and Eric Schuessler have been named Srixon/Cleveland All-American Scholars by achieving a minimum 3.20 grade-point average in the classroom, competing in at least 50 percent of the team's tournaments and compiling a stroke average of 76.0 or less.
Kreikemeier earned his second consecutive all-Missouri Valley Conference honor this past season by placing third at the conference tournament and ranking seventh in the league with a 73.63 stroke average. The junior from Chesterfield, Mo., is a two-time MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team selection and has maintained a 3.48 GPA while majoring in Risk Management.
A Springfield native and graduate transfer this past season from Lindenwood, Locke led the Bears and ranked sixth in the Valley with a 73.50 scoring mark. He led the Bears in five tournaments and finished eighth at the MVC Championship. He compiled a 3.75 GPA in Project Management.
Lee is a senior from Tillamook, Ore. who tied for third on the squad with a 75.79 stroke average. He set the all-time MSU scoring record for 54 holes in February, posting 205 and tying for third at the Loyola Intercollegiate. Lee has a 3.40 GPA while majoring in Exercise and Movement Science.
Schuessler, a sophomore from Stillwater, Okla., tied for third on the team with a 75.79 scoring average and has compiled a 3.90 GPA while majoring in Corporate Finance.
