SPRINGFIELD – The Missouri State track and field team will head to Fayetteville, Ark. on Friday, April 8 to compete in the John McDonnell Invitational hosted by the University of Arkansas. Field events will begin at 9:45 a.m. with the first track event set for a start time of 3:30 p.m.Â

Missouri State continues its outdoor season at the John McDonnell Invitational hosted by the University of Arkansas. The Bears traveled to Fayetteville earlier this year to compete in the Arkansas Qualifier, an indoor meet hosted by the Razorbacks. The Bears had numerous athletes earn personal bests at the qualifier on Feb. 18. Â

This will be the Bears' first time competing at the invitational since the 2018-19 season.Â

The Bears will head back to John McDonnell Field later this season for the Arkansas Twilight on Friday, May 6. Â

MSU will send 21 athletes to the invitational and have 26 entries over 12 events.Â

Missouri State boasts 21 top-10 individual times/marks on the Missouri Valley Conference performance list. Â

The Bears' 4x100 relay sits at fourth in the MVC with a season best time of 47.88 seconds, while the 4x400 is sixth with a time of 3:58.74. The first was earned at the Billiken Invitational while the latter came in the Southwest Baptist Invitational over the weekend.Â

Calandra Henry leads the conference with the top 100-meter dash time. The personal best of 11.84 seconds came at the Billiken Invitational on March 25. Henry also holds the second-best 200-meter time of 24.65 recorded at the Southwest Baptist Invitational on April 1.Â

All four of MSU's javelin throwers are in the top-10 in the MVC. Jaide Rose leads the pack in second place in the conference with a mark of 42.05 meters recorded in the first outdoor meet of the season on March 25. Rochelle Etienne also sits in the top three in third with a throw of 41.78 meters (April 1). Â

Jordan Fife is in his fourth year as head coach and eighth overall with the program after a four-year stint as an assistant for the program. Fife also took over the head coaching duties of the cross country team in 2014. Â
