HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Missouri State beach volleyball team fell to No. 6 LSU, 5-0, in the first round of the CCSA Beach Volleyball Championship here at the John Hunt Park Sand Volleyball Complex on Thursday morning.

Gretchen Hand said. "We are competing against some of the best teams in the nation. Throughout the season we have grown together collaboratively as a program. The Bears are keeping faith in the process and we look forward to game time tomorrow."
LSU (28-8) entered the tournament as the No. 3 seed while the Bears (12-15) were seeded sixth.
Tylar Garrett and
Mya Young fell to Bella Bauman and Parker Bracken on the No. 1 court, of 21-10 and 21-11.
The Tigers increased their lead with a win in the No. 4 flight as Grace Seits and Ellie Shank defeated
Becca Bach and
Brooke Plessner (21-7, 21-11). In the No. 2 spot,
Grace Cook and
Chloe Tome put up a fight against Kylie Deberg and Kelli Greene-Agnew before falling 21-14 and 21-11.
Missouri State's
Addison Crider and
Kaeli Kristensen were defeated by Holly Carlton and Reilly Allred in the No. 3 flight, 21-9 and 21-16. LSU completed the match with a victory in the No. 5 spot as Sierra Caffo and Ashlyn Rasnick-Pope topped
Parker McAllen and
Olivia Rattler (21-7, 21-12).
The Bears continue the CCSA Championship tomorrow at 9:30 a.m., when they face Tulane.
