OZARK, Mo. – The Missouri State beach volleyball team swept its doubleheader against Missouri Baptist, 5-0 and 4-1 here Friday in its first-ever match at the Beach Volleyball Ozark indoor facility.
With the win, the Bears improved to 9-5 on the season. The nine wins this season are the second-most in program history.

Kaeli Kristensen and
Brooke Plessner did a great job in the No. 3 position during the second dual of the day. We will look to continue to improve offensively."
Grace Cook and
Chloe Tome improved to 13-1 in the No. 2 flight this season by winning both their matches. The MSU duo defeated Nathiellen Machado and Giovanna Tapigliani in the first match (21-10, 21-12) before dispatching Maria Hanusik and Calista Morais in the nightcap (21-14, 21-11).
In the No. 5 flight,
Parker McAllen and
Olivia Rattler used their mix of youth and experience to sweep both matches against Natalie Edson and Marina Obradovic (21-16, 21-17 and 21-9, 21-14). The duo now has 10 wins on the season which is the second-highest among all MSU pairs.
Newcomers
Becca Bach and
Grayson Hall were impressive in the No. 4 spot as they recorded two wins over Kaili Smith and Kirsten Van Der Vleuten (21-15, 21-8 and 21-16, 21-12).
The Bears duo of
Tylar Garrett and
Mya Young split in the No. 1 position. In match one, Garrett and Young defeated Ariana Macies and Isidora Stojovic in a three-set thriller (21-18, 14-21, 15-4.) The MBU pair of Macies and Stojovic responded with a sweep in the nightcap (21-13, 21-16) to give the Spartans their lone point of the day.
In No. 3 pairs, Kristensen and Cridder defeated Hansuik and Morais in the first dual, 21-17 and 21-14. Both coaches shuffled lineups in the second dual as Plessner and Kristensen defeated Machado and Tapigliani (21-9, 21-16).
Missouri State also took both exhibition matches courtesy of
Chloe Filipski and
Abby Fowler taking down Carlee Wise and Sara Klunder (21-7, 21-9) and
Madalyn Bass and
Anamarie Colon-Calero defeating Wise and Tessa Schniede (17-21, 21-17, 15-8).

The Bears head to Conway, Arkansas on Friday, March 25 where they will take on Stephen F. Austin at noon and Central Arkansas at 4 p.m.
"We are excited to go into University of Central Arkansas next Friday with some more fire power," Hand added.
