
Women’s Golf Wraps up Diane Daugherty Invite

KIRKWOOD, Mo. – The Missouri State women's golf team completed play at the Diane Daugherty Invite as the Bears carded a 315 on the final day of play at Greenbriar Hills Country Club on Tuesday.
Brooke Newell and Allison Bray paced the MSU effort during the final round as Newell carded a team-best 77 while Bray followed right behind with a 78.
Overall, MSU finished with a score of, 311-311-315 – 937 to finish 5th among the large 16-team field.
Abby Cavaiani (74-76-74– 224) Faith Belmear (73-78-80 – 231) and Johanna Wollenhaupt (79-74-81 – 234) all recorded Top-20 finishes as Cavaiani tied for 5th, Belmear finished tied for 11th and Wollenhaupt finished 20th. Newell followed in 27th after carding an 82-77-78 – 237. Rounding out the MSU scoring was Bray (77-85-77 – 239) and Faith Hopkins (83-82-80 – 245). Cavaiani did not count toward the Missouri State team score since she competed as an individual.
Arkansas State won the team title as they carded a 914, two strokes ahead of second-place South Dakota (916). Illinois State finished third as the Redbirds shot a 923. Bradley's Taylor Ledwein was the individual champion with a score of 221, edging out the South Dakota duo of Danica Badura (222) and Akari Hayashi (222) by a single stroke.
MSU is back in action April 12-13, as they travel to Broken Arrow Okla., to compete in the Oral Roberts Invitational.
