Tennis Bears Ready for Arkansas

March 11, 2021

SPRINGFIELD – Missouri State women's tennis will look to continue its two-match winning streak this weekend as they prepare for a pair of matches against Arkansas State and Louisiana Tech in Jonesboro, Ark.

"I am excited to see the girls compete this weekend at Arkansas State," head coach Hannah Keeling said. "It will be two very good matches for us as we work closer to conference play."

The first match will occur on Friday at 1:30 p.m. against Arkansas State (2-3). The Red Wolves are coming off a win over Texas State by the score of 4-3 back on March 7. Arkansas State leads the all-time series 11-9.

Following the match against Arkansas State, the Bears have a quick turnaround as they square off against Louisiana Tech at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Tech is 5-5 overall this season and coming of a 5-2 loss to Middle Tennessee. The Bears are 3-0 all-time against the Lady Techsters.

In last week's action, the Bears caught fire, defeating in-state foes Saint Louis 5-2 and Kansas City, 4-3. The consecutive wins were the first since April of 2019 for MSU.

After this weekend's matches, the Bears will be back in action March 19-20, when they travel to Texas to face UT Dallas on Friday and North Texas Saturday.
