Wollenhaupt Named Conference Golfer of Week
February 06, 2021 | Women's Golf
Missouri State's Johanna Wollenhaupt has been named Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week for her performance in the Bears' season opener earlier this week.
Wollenhaupt shot 78-81-78--237 to tie for 55th at the SMU/Trinity Forest Invitational in Dallas on Monday-Tuesday (Feb. 1-2), a field that featured four of the nation's top 25 teams. It was the first tournament of the spring season for MSU and the first overall for Wollenhaupt who missed the fall season due to Covid-19 protocols.
A freshman from Hamburg, Germany, she averaged 77.38 while playing in all seven tournaments for the Bears last season, which she regained in eligibility due to the pandemic. This marks the first weekly honor from the Valley for Wollenhaupt.
She and her teammates are slated to resume the spring season Feb. 28-Mar. 2 at the Kiawah Island Classic in South Carolina.
