Tennis Bears Set for Two-Match Weekend
February 03, 2021 | Women's Tennis
SPRINGFIELD – Missouri State's women's tennis team travels north for a duo of road matches this weekend with competition against Nebraska-Omaha and Creighton.
Â
"We are ready to get three matches under our belt," head coach Hannah Keeling said. "After last weekend, the girls are ready to get back out and compete. It will be two good matches to put in what we have been doing in practice and I can't wait to see them play."
The Bears were originally slated to play South Dakota in Sioux Falls, S.D. on Friday, however that portion of the road trip was cancelled due to inclement weather.
The road trip will start with a match at Nebraska-Omaha (3-2) on Saturday at noon before closing the road trip with a Sunday contest against Creighton (2-0) at 9 a.m.
In 2019-2020 MSU dropped their decision to Nebraska-Omaha 2-5.
Â
The Bears (0-1) dropped their season opener to Wichita State 6-1 with senior Ellie Burger putting the Bears on the board with her 26th career singles win.Â
Â
After this weekend's matches MSU will be back in action Friday Feb. 12 when they host SEMO with first serve set for 7 p.m., at Cooper Tennis Complex.
