SPRINGFIELD – The Missouri State women's soccer team (1-3-1) will open MVC play as they host preseason favorite Loyola Sunday at 1 p.m., from Allison South Stadium.

- Key starters returning for the Bears include Kaitlyn Maxwell, Bryn McQuaid, Anna Durnin and Jordan Eickelman.
- Three Bears garnered All-MVC Preseason honors as Maxwell, Durnin and Isabel Burke landed on the first team.
- Durnin earned All-MVC first-team honors and tied for third on the team in goals (3) in 2019.
- Missouri State is in its 25th season of women's soccer with a 217-196-55 (.522) all-time record. Rob Brewer is the only head coach in the program's history and has guided the Bears to two NCAA Tournament appearances (2000, 2017).
- Loyola has yet to play an official game this season. However, the Ramblers did drop their lone exhibition match to Marquette 1-0.
- Loyola came in first place in the MVC Preseason Poll, garnering 80 points and eight first-place votes.
- Loyola had three preseason first-team All-MVC nominees in Lindsey Hardiman, Abby Swanson and Megan Nemec. Aly Kilburg and Grace Droessler appeared on the preseason honorable mention All-MVC team.
- The Ramblers went 14-5-1 last season in-route to an MVC Championship.
- Loyola fell in the first round of the NCAA tournament to Hofstra 1-0 in their last official match back on Nov. 16, 2019.
- Loyola is led by Barry Bimbi, who is in his 8th season at the helm and has garnered 77 wins while leading the Ramblers.
- Loyola leads the all-time series, 5-3.
- The Bears' last win over the Ramblers was a 1-0 triumph on Nov. 3, 2017.
- The last time the teams met was Oct. 12, 2019, with Loyola prevailing, 2-0.
- Following Sunday's match against Loyola, the Bears will be back in action, March 5, as they travel to Normal, Ill., to face Illinois State. The match kicks off at 4 p.m.
