Amaka Agugua-Hamilton announced Sunday that women's basketball player
Jasmine Franklin will miss the remainder of her senior season after suffering a torn ACL on Dec. 21 against Toledo.
Franklin started 11 games for Missouri State this season and paced the Lady Bears by averaging 14.9 points and 12.1 rebounds per game. The senior forward was named Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week for three consecutive weeks to begin the season and ranked in the top 20 nationally in six categories before being sidelined by the injury.
This season, Franklin surpassed 1,100 career points and 900 career rebounds to become just the fifth Lady Bear in program history to accomplish that feat. She ranks 24
th in program history in scoring (1,122), while ranking third all-time in rebounds (913) and rebounding average (9.0), and second all-time in blocks (130).
Earlier this season, the Lady Bears also lost fifth-year senior
Abby Hipp to a season-ending knee injury at USC on Nov. 20.
