SPRINGFIELD – Missouri State beach volleyball bolstered its 2022 roster with a pair of transfers Thursday, with Addison Crider and Grayson Hall committing to the Bears for the 2021-22 school year. The pair joins five freshmen who have already signed National Letters of Intent for a group of seven newcomers to the 2022 roster.
Addison Crider • 5-9 • Marshfield, Mo. • Marshfield High/Central Methodist
Crider is currently a freshman on the indoor volleyball team at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo., and completed the fall season with 16 kills, nine digs, two aces and two assists while appearing in 20 sets and 12 of the Eagles' 14 matches, helping CMU to a top-10 national ranking. At nearby Marshfield High, Crider earned all-conference and all-district honors four times, including first-team nods as a junior and senior. She tallied 665 kills and 463 her final three years and helped the Blue Jays to 88 victories in her tenure. Crider was awarded the MSHSSA Female Award of Excellence her senior season. In the sand, she placed 17th out of 71 teams at the USAV Beach Nationals in 2020 to go with several top five finishes in regional tournaments around the Midwest.
Friedland on Crider:
"Addi is a great local player who will be a solid addition to the Beach Bears. She has a natural beach game and her creativity on the sand will help score points for sure. It's always exciting to add quality local players and bring them back home! I'm excited to work with Addi and get her started full time on the sand!"
Grayson Hall • 6-0 • Bradenton, Fla. • Manatee High/University of Tampa
Hall will compete in her third beach season at the University of Tampa this spring before graduating and is 2-0 in the sand for the Spartans in her career. She began her collegiate career on the indoor team at Campbell University, appearing in 10 matches for a team that advanced to the 2017 National Invitational Volleyball Championship. A four-year letterwinner at Manatee High in Bradenton, Fla., Hall was a part of four conference championship clubs and won a state title her sophomore season. She also played in the No. 1 spot on the Hurricanes' tennis team.
Friedland on Hall:
"We are super pumped that Grayson chose to be a Beach Bear. She adds versatility, height and experience to our squad. Her time at Tampa will allow her to add some instant leadership and guidance for our younger players as well."
