ST. LOUIS – Missouri State women's tennis senior
Alye Darter, along with Tanner Craig of Evansville, landed in this week's MVC Scholar-Athlete Spotlight, presented by Enterprise Bank and Trust Company, Commissioner Doug Elgin announced Wednesday.

Darter is a speech and pathology major that has amassed numerous academic accolades during her MSU career including the MVC Elite 17 award in 2018 and ITA Scholar-Athlete honors in 2017, 2018, and 2019.

The Rogers, Ark. native is heavily involved on campus, serving as president of the MSU Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and founding the Green Bandanna Project. Darter has rallied the local Springfield community to bring awareness about mental health by partnering with campus resources including athletics and Greek life.

To qualify for the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Spotlight, student-athletes must carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20, completed at least one academic year at a Valley institution and must be at least a sophomore in academic standing.
Redshirt freshmen and first-year junior college transfers are not eligible. In addition to the academic qualifications, student-athletes are evaluated on their campus involvement and community service.
