MVC Release

Missouri State's Abby Cavaiani has been named Missouri Valley Conference Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year for her excellence in the classroom and on the golf course. The reigning conference champion, Cavaiani headlines the 10-member team voted on the the league's sports information directors.

The sophomore from Wales, Wis., took medalist honors at last year's conference championship on her way to being named MVC Newcomer of the Year. She finished second in the league in scoring average this past season with a 74.29 while compiling a 3.98 GPA in the classroom as a Business major.

Others on the conference academic team include Hannah Bermel and Sydney Eaton of UNI; Lauren Green and Sierra Hargens of Indiana State; Erica Kerr and Emilyee McGiles of Southern Illinois; Becca Black of Illinois State; Maddie Hawkins of Bradley; and Sophia Rohleder of Evansville.
