MIAMI, Fla. – Missouri State's second weekend of the beach volleyball season started with a sweep of Florida Memorial and a 5-0 loss to Tampa at the FIU Beach Bash Friday.

Against FMU, the Bears (3-3) won all five matches in straight sets, including Kelsey Larsen and Alaina Tinsley winning their fifth consecutive match for the longest win streak in school history at the No. 1 spot.

In the second flight, Kendra Sater and Chloe Tome allowed 10 total points in two sets, while Parker McAllen and Siena Brewster improved to 4-1 on the season with a No. 5 win. Rachel Tam paired with Grace Cook for their third win of the young season in the No. 3 match, and Pamela Jaime and Tory Penick rounded out the lineup in the fourth slot.

In the afternoon contest with Tampa, the Bears went the full three sets in four of their five matches, but the Spartans prevailed in each one for a 5-0 final that made the match appear more lopsided than it was.

The Bears will watch the sun rise Saturday morning with matches against New Orleans at 6:30 a.m. Central and No. 14 Florida International at 9:30.
