SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Missouri State proved unable to match Omaha's potent singles play, falling 5-2 in a Saturday morning contest at Cooper Tennis Complex.

Alyson Piskulic and
Anna Alons handed MSU an early doubles edge with a 6-2 result on the No. 3 court, but the Mavericks claimed the remaining two matches to take the 1-0 advantage.

Ellie Burger won her second singles matchup in as many days, downing Omaha's Natalie Lorentz 6-1, 6-1 to deadlock both clubs at one all. Omaha responded with four-straight victories on the Nos. 4, 1, 2, and 5 courts to ultimately claim the win.

Piskulic capped MSU's scoring efforts with a straight-set 6-3, 7-6 result in the sixth flight. Â Â
