ST. LOUIS – Isabel Burke of the Missouri State women's soccer team was named Missouri Valley Conference Performer of the Week, announced by the league on Tuesday (Nov. 3).
 
Burke, a junior from St. Louis, Mo., transferred from Saint Louis University this past year where she played in all 23 games at the defender position and received Atlantic 10 Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors.
 
Burke secured the win for the Bears on Friday (Oct. 30) with a late goal off a corner kick to defeat the Missouri Southern Lions, 2-0. Burke has played over 190 minutes at center back anchoring the back line and has added to the attack several times. This marked her first goal as a Bear and she helped the Bears complete the fall season with a 1-2-1 record.
