Tennis Bears Head to ITA Regional Championship

SPRINGFIELD – The Missouri State women's tennis team travels to Fayetteville, Ark. to compete in the ITA Central Regional Championship Friday, Oct. 23 through Sunday, Oct. 25.

Friday will consist of the round of 64 and 32 for singles play and round of 32 and 16 for doubles. Saturday moves to the round of 16 and quarterfinals for singles and the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds for doubles. Sunday will consist of the semifinal and final round for singles and the final round for doubles. The consolation finals will also happen on Sunday.
"We are looking forward to playing against the top teams in our region," Missouri State head coach Mallory Weber said. "We know we will be tested and this will be good to see what we need to continue improving heading into the off season."
The Bears will face competitors from Mizzou, Central Arkansas, Oral Roberts, Texas Christian, North Texas, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Kansas and Oklahoma.
Alyson Piskulic, Claire Martin, Mara Presot and Tiffani Nash each have three singles wins coming into the regional championships. Taylor Shaw and Mary Houston each have two and Ellie Burger has one.
The ITA Regional Championship concludes the fall schedule for the Bears and sends them into the off-season to prepare for the Spring.
