MSU Women Start Home Stand Thursday vs. UCA

SPRINGFIELD – The Missouri State women's soccer team (0-1) will host Central Arkansas (7-2-1) Thursday beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium, marking the first home match of the 2020-21 season for MSU. Central Arkansas previously defeated MSU 3-1 on Oct. 15 in Conway, Ark.

The Bears are 0-1 on the 2020-21 season so far with a 3-1 loss to Central Arkansas on Oct. 15.
Kennady Orlick scored the lone goal from a penalty kick in the 3-1 loss to UCA on Oct. 15.
The Bears advanced to the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament semifinals last season where they fell in overtime to Illinois State.
The Bears are led by the senior standout Kaitlin Maxwell, who has earned back to back MVC Goalkeeper of the Year honors in 2018 and 2019. Maxwell also earned All-MVC first team, MVC All-Tournament Team and United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Region accolades last season. She ranked second in Valley in GAA (.972) and saves (73) and tied for third in shutouts (6). She ranked 88th nationally in GAA and 89th in shutouts.
Key starters returning for the Bears include Maxwell, Bryn McQuaid, Anna Durnin and Jordan Eickelman.
Durnin earned All-MVC first team honors and tied for third on the team in goals (3).
Eickelman earned All-MVC second-team accolades and recorded four goals and a team high of 27 shots.
The Bears are 30-19-7 all-time at Allison South Stadium and were 6-3-1 at home last season.
Missouri State begins its 25th season of women's soccer with a 216-193-54 (.525) all-time record. Rob Brewer is the only head coach in the program's history and has guided the Bears to two NCAA Tournament appearances (2000, 2017).

Central Arkansas sits at 7-2-1 overall in the 2020 season and is 3-0-1 on the road.
UCA is coming off a 2-1 win over Arkansas State on Oct. 18.
UCA's Sydney Brough and Emma Hawkins lead the squad in goals and shots.
UCA head coach Jeremy Bishop has been with the Bears since 2012. He has led the Bears to two conference titles and five conference tournament appearances.
